I.
I happen upon a garden A grapevine Familiar, unproven II. I see the grapes blossom Tendrils outstretched not to me In propriety I merely watch III. I secretly wish a harvest at my own hands At that right time that comes without my knowing Too late, yet seeming too soon IV. I feel the wine pressed For another to drink Yet I am intoxicated more than they V. I am inebriated at the scent But faculties intact Finding Joy without indulgence VI. I wait with no intention Just the linger of a taste imagined Without flavor and so my thirst remains pure Unrequitted Yet Satisfied |
